CCI ULTRA-BLOCK® Water Soluble Blockout is a professional screen printing blockout designed to fill open areas of screen mesh that are not covered by emulsion. Its blue color provides high contrast against the stencil, making treated areas easy to identify during screen preparation.
ULTRA-BLOCK is ideal for masking multiple designs exposed on the same screen. Designs that are not currently being printed can be blocked out until they are needed, making the product especially useful for multi-design and multi-color screen printing applications.
The formula is also excellent for touching up pinholes, small stencil defects, and gaps between the emulsion edge and screen frame. Filling these areas with blockout can help prevent unwanted ink from passing through the screen and can reduce the need for tape around the print area.
Designed for fast drying and one-coat coverage, ULTRA-BLOCK develops a durable surface with high abrasion resistance for dependable performance during production. It can be used across a wide range of screen mesh counts.
For very fine mesh, the viscosity may be reduced with a small amount of water when necessary. Once printing is complete and the ink has been removed, ULTRA-BLOCK can be easily washed from the screen with water.
ULTRA-BLOCK is non-hazardous, biodegradable, and drain safe, making it a convenient blockout solution for everyday professional screen preparation and reclaiming workflows.

- Make sure the screen is completely dry and free of contaminants before applying ULTRA-BLOCK.
- Pour the blockout onto the squeegee/print side of the screen.
- Use a plastic blade applicator to spread the product across open areas until the mesh is completely filled.
- Apply ULTRA-BLOCK to gaps between the emulsion edge and frame to help eliminate the need for tape in those areas.
- Inspect the stencil and touch up pinholes and other defects before printing.
- Avoid leaving excessively heavy blobs of blockout, which may dry unevenly and potentially pop off or smear during production.
- When working with very fine mesh, add a small amount of water if necessary to reduce viscosity.
- Allow the blockout to dry completely before beginning production.
- After printing and ink removal, wash ULTRA-BLOCK from the screen with water.
