Zodiac™ Aquarius™ Bright Discharge White ZF is a professional water-based discharge ink designed to produce bright, opaque white prints while maintaining the exceptionally soft hand associated with discharge printing. It is formulated for use on 100% cotton garments dyed with dischargeable dyes, making it ideal for premium fashion, retail, and high-quality textile printing applications.
The ink can be used as a stand-alone discharge white, mixing white, or highlight white. When properly activated, the discharge chemistry removes or alters the garment dye during curing while replacing it with a bright white image, helping create a print that feels significantly softer than a traditional heavy ink deposit.
Aquarius Bright Discharge White ZF is designed for efficient production and supports wet-on-wet multicolor printing, reducing the need for flashing between colors. Avient recommends using Aquarius Discharge Activator ZF at up to 6%. Once activated, the ink should be used within approximately 8 hours to minimize potential color changes.
The Aquarius discharge system is water-based, non-PVC, and non-phthalate and is supported by Avient's Aquarius ink system.
Important: Discharge results depend heavily on the garment dye and fabric construction. Always test each garment style and color for dischargeability, colorfastness, cure, and print durability before beginning production.

- Mix up to 6% Aquarius Discharge Activator ZF thoroughly into the ink.
- Allow approximately 10 minutes for the activator to dissolve, then remix immediately before putting the ink on press.
- Activate only the amount required for production because activated ink should generally be used within approximately 8 hours.
- For optimum performance, use approximately 86–230 mesh.
- Use approximately 1/16" (2 mm) off-contact.
- A single print stroke at medium speed is recommended as a starting point.
- Use a sharp, square 60/90/60 durometer squeegee at approximately a 10–15° angle.
- Use a water-resistant emulsion suitable for water-based and discharge inks.
- Keep the ink moving during production to help prevent drying in the screen.
- Avoid flashing where possible.
- For multicolor discharge work, print wet-on-wet and position Bright Discharge White appropriately in the print sequence.
- Cure at approximately 330°F (165°C) for 90 seconds, verifying the actual temperature at the ink surface.
- Adjust dryer settings as needed based on garment weight, airflow, belt speed, and dryer configuration.
- Always test garments for dischargeability, colorfastness, cure, and print durability before beginning production.
- Use adequate ventilation during curing because the discharge reaction can generate vapor, smoke, and odor.
