Characteristics

The CCI QUIK-DRY® Water Soluble Blockout is a professional screen printing blockout designed to quickly fill open areas of screen mesh that are not covered by emulsion. Its low-viscosity formulation spreads easily across the screen, providing efficient coverage while helping screen printers prepare stencils for production.

QUIK-DRY is especially useful when multiple designs are exposed on the same screen. Unused designs can be temporarily masked with the blockout until they are ready to be printed, making it a practical solution for multi-design and multi-color screen printing workflows.

The fast-drying green formula is also ideal for touching up pinholes and other small openings in the stencil that could otherwise allow unwanted ink to pass through during printing. Its visible green color helps operators identify treated areas while preparing the screen.

Designed to provide effective coverage in a single coat, QUIK-DRY develops a durable surface with high abrasion resistance after drying. This helps the blockout withstand the mechanical action associated with normal screen printing production while maintaining the integrity of masked areas.

QUIK-DRY is suitable for screen printing applications using water-based, discharge, and plastisol inks. Despite its durable performance during printing, the water-soluble formulation can be easily removed with water when the screen is ready to be cleaned or reclaimed.

Usage Tips
  • Make sure the screen and stencil are clean and dry before applying QUIK-DRY.
  • Apply the blockout to open mesh areas that should not allow ink to pass during printing.
